About Me

Here’s how it all went down…

It’s the year 2018.  I’m sitting on my couch and an idea pops into my head. – I should make a braided rug! – Then I think - Hmmm.. I wonder if it’s hard to make a braided rug. -  Followed by, - OK-CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. I’m going to learn how to braid rugs! –

So, let the researching begin.  After watching about a thousand videos and tutorials, I finally decided to give it a try.  Then I saw the price of wool.  Was I ready to make that kind of an investment?  .. Ahhmmm…NO!  I remembered a couple of the You-Tubers I had watched that were using T-shirts to braid, instead of wool.  So, maybe this wasn’t a deal breaker after all.  - I’ll learn to rug using some of my old t-shirts.. -

My first rug took me like 5 months to complete.  I learned what to do, and what not to do..  I found my process..  The colors are pretty, but honestly, it looked like hell- all rippled and wavy.  It didn’t lay flat at all.  To this day, it sits on my bedroom floor, reminding me of how far I’ve come along since I started.

Oh, and as far as I’m concerned about wool…  The sheep can keep it!  I love recycling (I should say, UP-cycling) old t-shirts into these beautiful works of art.  I doubt that will ever change.
